Hello! My name is Karley Kornegay and I am a voice teacher currently located in the greater Weaverville, and Asheville, North Carolina area, where I offer travel and remote lessons. I have been singing and performing my whole life, and received my BFA in musical theatre from East Carolina University in May of 2020. I studied classical voice for nine years, pop/rock/contemporary voice for five years, music theory for nine years, ten years of chorale experience, three years of piano experience, four years of professional singing and performing within the musical theatre field, and six years of teaching experience in vocal technique and coaching material and auditions from ages 3 to 62. I have taught over 400 kids from all over the world!
My teaching approach is very student and individual
oriented. Every student and every voice is wonderfully unique and beautiful. Each student also has their own unique goals for their voice and their own unique skills that I believe should be nurtured and celebrated. My goal is to provide my students with tools to elevate and balance their singing voice, and provide an encouraging learning environment where my students feel safe and confident to explore and learn their instrument. My students feeling confident in themselves, their voice, and it’s unique beauty is my top priority!
What do lessons look like with Karley?

My lessons are very student-oriented! Voice lessons can look different for each student dependent on their goals and their needs. Maybe you want more guidance with balance and technique, or maybe you are searching for guidance and preparation for an upcoming audition. Or maybe you would like a hand with finding vocal stamina and sustainability for an upcoming show. Maybe you want to know more about the science, anatomy, and function of the voice, or maybe you want to diversify your voice and the styles you can sing. I am here to help you with all of your vocal needs! Every voice is wonderfully unique, every student is unique, so therefore, every lesson is unique! My goal is to cater your lessons specifically to you, your vocal goals, and your preferred style of learning. My top priority is to create a safe and encouraging learning space for my students.
